Want to drink your nutrients in something other than a green smoothie? Well, I sure do have the drink (or three) for you! I bring you the hot chocolate – revolutionized! I have taken the classic you know and love, simplified it to a 5 ingredient hot chocolate, and multiplied the flavor profile for a variety of tastes.

Rest assured that no matter which flavor you love the most, you are still getting a great source of magnesium, from the raw cacao. Magnesium is used by every single cell in our bodies and is crucial for heart health, sleeping well and most importantly reducing stress!

The hemp seeds in this recipe (this is my favourite brand) provide a source of super healthy omega 3 fats, which add a satiating richness to these delicious drinks.

Another great benefit – completely plant based, making this easier to digest than drinks containing cows dairy! Sit down, grab your mug and sip your stress away deliciously! 

The Original HC

  • 250 ml Almond (Or your other favourite) Milk
  • 2 tsp Cacao Powder
  • 1 tbsp Hemp Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Dark Chocolate Chips/Chunks
  • ½ tsp Vanilla

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients except chocolate chips and vanilla to a blender, and blend until smooth (about 1 minute).
  2. If any pieces remain, strain mixture and heat in a saucepan on medium heat. 
  3. Add vanilla and chocolate chips and stir until melted.
  4. Pour in a mug and enjoy!

The Clementine HC 

  • 250 ml Almond Milk
  • 2 tsp Cacao Powder
  • 1 tbsp Hemp Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Clementine Juice
  • 1 tsp Honey

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender, and blend until smooth (about 1 minute).
  2. Heat in a saucepan on medium heat. 
  3. Pour in a mug, garnish with a clementine wedge and enjoy!

The Cinnamon HC

  • 250 ml Almond Milk
  • 2 tsp Cacao Powder
  • 1 tbsp Hemp Seeds
  • 1 tsp Maple Syrup
  • ¼ tsp Cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients except to a blender, and blend until smooth (about 1 minute).
  2. If any pieces remain, strain mixture and heat in a saucepan on medium heat. 
  3. Pour in a mug, add a sprinkle of cinnamon, and enjoy!
